Doosan Infracore records the highest excavator sales in China in the past ten years

In 2020, Doosan Infracore recorded its highest excavator sales in China for the past ten years. Doosan Infracore announced on January 11 that it had sold 18,686 excavators in China in 2020. This represents a 22.4% increase over the 15,270 units sold in 2019, and is the highest figure since it sold over 16,700 units in 2011.

Based on foreign companies having a presence in the Chinese excavator market, Doosan Infracore has increased its market share from about 13% in 2015 to about 23% (as of 2020). The company is locked in fierce competition with Caterpillar (CAT), the world’s largest excavator manufacturer, for the No. 1 position in the Chinese excavator market. In November of last year, Doosan Infracore became the first foreign manufacturer in the Chinese market to exceed an accumulated production figure of 200,000 excavators.


Doosan Infracore is aggressively penetrating the market with differentiated products, services, and marketing, such as launching locally customized products tailored to the growing trend of the Chinese market, providing online live service training, and holding online launch shows.


“The Chinese excavator market is expected to show continued growth as the Chinese Government is expanding investment in the national infrastructure. We plan to consolidate our sales channel base and expand our market presence with differentiated strategies,” said an executive of Doosan Infracore. <End>
