Doosan Infracore Engine BG, a provider of engine blocks to General Motors (GM), has received the GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the second consecutive year.

On March 31, the company announced that it was recognized as the ‘Best Supplier’ of engine & transmission by GM during its 2019 Supplier Quality Excellence Award ceremony. The award recipients are chosen by a panel of GM executives in different departments to honor those that distinguish themselves by going above and beyond GM’s requirements in terms of technology, quality, delivery and production.

The Engine BG annually supplies approximately two hundred thousand units of engine blocks to GM Korea and Uzbekistan. An engine block is a basic structure upon which all engine components are mounted. The engine blocks supplied by Doosan Infracore Engine BG are used in GM’s 1,500c and 1,800cc class passenger cars.

“We would like to express our appreciation to Doosan Infracore for promptly responding to our requirements despite the adverse market conditions last year”, said Richard Demuynck, Executive Director of Global Supplier Quality & Development at GM. “We honored Doosan Infracore as our best supplier, in recognition of its significant contribution in boosting our competitiveness by delivering the improved innovative quality”.

Executive Vice President of Doosan Infracore, Joonho Yoo, the head of Engine BG said, “To further strengthen our partnership with GM, we will continuously strive for stable supply through quality enhancement and schedule compliance”.
